KATHMANDU, Nov 14: Literary figure Shanta Das Manandhar passed away at the age of 90. Literary Prof Jagat Upadhyaya said that he died today while undergoing treatment at the local Vayodha Hospital. He is a pioneer of children's literature in Nepal.
Late Manandhar was honored with many honors and awards including the first Parijat Bal Sahitya Samman 2070 BS, Jagdamba-Shree Samman 2075 BS, Devkota Lu Xun Pragya Puraskar in 2018.
Literary writer Manandhar edited and published children's literature magazines named 'Balkoseli', 'Balposh' and 'Machakyaba'. Having dedicated his life to children's literature for more than six decades, he had been writing children's book since the Rana regime.
According to Prof Upadhyaya, Manandhar's cremation will be done tomorrow.
