Lightning kills two in Rolpa

ROLPA, May 7: A lightning strike killed two persons in Rolpa on Thursday.

ROLPA, May 7: A lightning strike killed two persons in Rolpa on Thursday. 


Two men of Lungri Rural Municipality-2, Sirpa, died after being struck by lightning at around 8:30 am today.

The deceased have been identified as Bhim Bahadur BK, 63, and Chitra Bahadur Pun, 40. Both of them breathed their last on the spot, according to Durga Bahadur Khadka, the chairman of Lungri Rural Municipality. 


Khadka added that BK fell by his kitchen while Pun was going to the washroom when they were struck by the lightning. 


BK’s granddaughter has also sustained injuries in the incident. She is, however, out of danger. A goat kid was also killed in the incident. 


The mortal remains of the deceased were sent to Sulichaur for post mortem. 


According to chairman Khadka, the families of the deceased will be provided Rs 25,000 each to perform the final rites.
