KATHMANDU, April 20: Teachers have continued their protest for the 19th consecutive day on Sunday, staging demonstrations at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu. They have been demanding that the government immediately enact the School Education Act.

Since April 2, teachers from public schools across the country have occupied the protest site, exerting pressure on the government to meet their demands. They have failed to reach any agreement despite holding discussions with Education Minister Bidya Bhattarai, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
