KATHMANDU, Aug 18: Chief Minister (CM) of Koshi Province, Uddhav Thapa, is scheduled to take the vote of confidence in the Provincial Assembly on August 21.
CM Thapa registered a proposal at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat on Friday to seek a vote of confidence on August 20. However, Deputy Speaker Shrijan Danuwar, who is acting as Speaker, decided to submit the proposal regarding the vote of confidence to the Chief Minister Thapa in the provincial assembly meeting to be held at 1 PM on Monday.

Thapa was re-appointed Chief Minister on August 1.
Thapa got the support of 47 provincial assembly members including 29 from his party, 12 from the CPN (Maoist Center), four from the CPN (Unified Socialist), one from the Janata Samajwadi Party and Speaker Baburam Gautam. There are 39 MPs of CPN-UML and 6 MPs of RPP against him.
