KMC cautions schools against taking admission before publication of SEE results

KATHMANDU, July 19:  The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has asked all higher secondary schools not to take admission in Grade XI before the results of Secondary Education Examinations (SEE) are announced.

KATHMANDU, July 19:  The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has asked all higher secondary schools not to take admission in Grade XI before the results of Secondary Education Examinations (SEE) are announced.


Admission in Grade XI before the publication of SEE results is against the provision in Rule 48 (6) of the School Education Management Regulations, 2074 BS, said a notice issued by the Education Department of the KMC on Monday.

All secondary schools have been asked not to take enrollments in grades 11 before the results are out, said Chief of the Education Department of KMC Ram Prasad Subedi. The higher secondary schools are asked to fix fees for both Grade XI and Grade XII students when they take admission of students for Grade XI.


Paudel said the schools charging fees for registration and examination more than the amount set by the National Examination Board are liable for action. “Students should not be forced to purchase textbooks, exercise books, school uniforms, and other educational materials from the place as directed by the respective school,” said Paudel.


All higher secondary schools in KMC have been asked to submit a list of services and fees charged from grades 11 and 12 students to the KMC’s Education Department within July 30. The KMC has also made it mandatory for higher secondary schools to submit information about scholarship facilities as well as other facilities provided to its students to its Education Department within two months of the beginning of the new academic session.
