Kingfisher Beer launched in Nepal

KATHMANDU, May 20: In association with Yeti Brewery, United Breweries Ltd has launched its flagship beer brands—Kingfisher Premium and Kingfisher Strong—in Nepal. Amid a ceremony held in the capital on Friday, United Breweries Ltd announced its foray into the Nepali market with the two variants. United Breweries Limited is a joint venture with the global beer leader Heineken NV.

KATHMANDU, May 20: In association with Yeti Brewery, United Breweries Ltd has launched its flagship beer brands—Kingfisher Premium and Kingfisher Strong—in Nepal. Amid a ceremony held in the capital on Friday, United Breweries Ltd announced its foray into the Nepali market with the two variants. United Breweries Limited is a joint venture with the global beer leader Heineken NV.


Issuing a statement, Yeti Brewery said that Kingfisher is a premium, aspirational, contemporary, youthful and fun brand and it constantly reinvents itself to engage with its consumers in exciting ways. 


 Kingfisher Strong is brewed from the finest malted barley and hops, according to the statement. 

“Its ever increasing consumer demand is further proof of its widely acclaimed unique taste and quality,” read the statement.

United Breweries' foray into the Nepali market is part of its plan to bring the 'Good Times' to the consumers in Nepal, and accelerating the brand's growth and market share across new territories, said the statement.


 Representatives of both breweries have hailed the launch of the beer brands a key milestone for their companies. 


 Addressing the launching ceremony, Shekhar Ramamurthy, managing director of the United Breweries Ltd said that Kingfisher is a universally recognized iconic brand that reflects the spirit of the 'Good Times'. 


 “We are excited on our partnership with Yeti Breweries. We look forward to a fruitful association and hope to create the excitement of our 'Good Times' experience to Nepal in the years to come,” he added. 


Also speaking on the ceremony, Sanjeev Saraff, managing director of Yeti Brewery, said: “Launching of the iconic Kingfisher Brand in Nepal is a very important milestone for Yeti Brewery. Kingfisher is one of the most popular beer brands in South Asia, and it is a proud moment for us to be able to introduce this brand in Nepal.” 


 “The beer market in Nepal is witnessing a strong growth and it is the opportune time for us to launch a highly reputable brand like Kingfisher in partnership with United Breweries Limited. Kingfisher is synonymous with 'Good Times' and that is exactly what consumers in Nepal will experience with this brand.”


Yeti Brewery has said that both Kingfisher Premium and Strong will be present across all retail outlets in the country. Kingfisher Premium, 650ml bottle, is priced at Rs 75 while the 500ml Can is priced at Rs 210. 


 Similarly, Kingfisher Strong, 650ml, will be available at the price of Rs 235 and 500ml Can at Rs 180, according to the company.
