Kathmandu Valley records 751 new cases of COVID-19 as 2,714 cases reported across Nepal on Thursday

KATHMANDU, July 22: The Kathmandu Valley recorded 751 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.


Of the 2,714 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Nepal, 751 were recorded in the Kathmandu Valley alone. This figure accounts for 27.67 percent of the total cases detected across the country today.

According to the latest data of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 9,122 PCR tests and 3,707 antigen tests were conducted across the country on Thursday. Of them 1,855 PCR tests and 859 antigen teats turned out to be positive for COVID-19.


With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 casetally has reached 727,169 including 637,690 recoveries and 9,661 deaths.


Of the 751 cases recorded in the Valley, 536 were detected in Kathmandu, 85 in Bhaktapur and 130 in Lalitpur districts.


There are currently 24,616 COVID-19 patients in home isolation, 2,759 in institutional isolation, 635 in ICUs and 172 on ventilators across the country.
