KATHMANDU, March 23: Amid escalating tensions in West Asia, 33 Nepalis stranded in Kuwait have been safely evacuated and sent to their respective destination countries, according to the Nepali Embassy in Kuwait.
The evacuees were stuck in Kuwait while transiting to Nepal and other countries due to the closure of Kuwait’s airspace. The embassy coordinated their onward journey via Saudi Arabia, using land routes to reach Saudi territory and then flights to their final destinations.
The embassy confirmed that the evacuations were conducted through mutual coordination, ensuring that Nepalis stranded en route to various countries could reach their destinations safely. The operation leveraged the ongoing air services from Saudi Arabia, as flights from Kuwait remained suspended.

Earlier, 69 Nepalis stranded in Kuwait were similarly evacuated in collaboration with the Nepali Embassy in Riyadh, traveling by land before continuing their journey by air.
With air services in Kuwait and Qatar disrupted, the embassy is continuing the process of transporting stranded Nepalis first to Saudi Arabia by land and then onward to their final destinations via air.
