KATHMANDU, August 18: Over 400 Nepalis were rescued by the British Army from Kabul, Afghanistan, on Tuesday. Along with Afghan refugees, Nepalis working in Kabul were rescued through an initiative of the British Army. They were taken to the UK and later sent to Nepal.
Of them, 61 Nepalis arrived in Nepal in a Qatar Airways flight this morning, according to Raj Kumar Chhetri, spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN). “There are chances that more will arrive today in different flights from London.”

On Tuesday, more than 300 Nepalis were rescued with an initiative of the US. A total of 118 Nepalis arrived here in Nepal yesterday via Kuwait after the US Air Force transported them to Doha, Qatar.
Similarly, 84 Nepalis were brought to Nepal on Tuesday evening in a Jazeera Airways’ chartered flight. All those who arrived in Nepal have been sent for quarantine in different places across the Kathmandu Valley.
