The report provides a comparative analysis of water supply and sanitation conditions across all 753 local units and provinces, identifying disparities and gaps in service delivery.
It recommends that ministries and government agencies prioritize areas with weaker WASH conditions while formulating policies and plans to reduce these gaps. It also stresses the need to ensure not only the availability of drinking water but also its quality and safety.
The report highlights inequalities in access to drinking water and sanitation services and calls for increased investment in local governments with weaker conditions.
According to data presented at the event, 62.5 percent of households have access to improved drinking water and safely managed services. However, despite the expansion of infrastructure, ensuring safe and sustainable water services remains a challenge.
The report also highlights variations in drinking water and sanitation conditions across the mountain, hill and Tarai regions, as well as among provinces. It underscores the importance of using the findings as a basis for future development plans.
