Dr. Upendra Devkota taken to his birth place Pandit Gaun as per his wish



Senior neurosurgeon Dr. Upendra Devkota has been airlifted to his home town Gorkha. Devkota has been taken to his birth place as per his wish to drink water from Sisnepani Dhara. Devkota has been undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital, Bansbari where he was kept on a ventilator for the past five days.

A Tara Air has met with an accident while landing at the Jumla Airport from Nepalgunj Saturday afternoon. The plane jumped off the runway after one of its tire got punctured. The plane with call sign 9N-AEV had 16 passengers on board.


False news travels faster on social media

Social media was flooded with false information of Dr. Upendra Devkota, Nepal’s top neuro surgeon's death twice; on December 27, 2017 and today (June 9, 2018). One of the reasons why false news travels faster is because it triggers reactive response among users, forcing one to ‘share’ the information on social media. Long before news is termed as false, the damage has been done and the seeds of doubt may have been sown among users.

Jumla district administration keeping close tabs on defaulting contractors, consumers
