MORANG, Oct 7: A Nepal Police constable has died in a road accident that occurred in Belbari, Morang, along the Mahendra Highway.
Morang Police Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bed Prakash Joshi said that a car and a motorcycle collided near the Chisang Bridge in Belbari Municipality-8 at around 6:45 PM on Sunday evening.

According to him, the accident occurred when a car with the license plate number Pra 3-01-024 Cha 0734, heading east from the west, and a motorcycle with the license plate number Pra 1-02-044 Pa 4996, heading west from the east, collided with each other.
DSP Joshi stated that Chitrasagar Rai, 32, a police constable originally from Silichong Rural Municipality-2 in Sankhuwasabha, who was currently stationed at the temporary police post in Nadaha, Sunsari, died in the incident. The police reported that Rai, who was the motorcycle rider, was rescued in a critical condition and brought to Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar, where he was declared dead by the doctors.
The body has been kept at Koshi Hospital for a post-mortem. Immediately after the accident, the police took the car and the driver, Dulal Miya, 30, from Sundar Haraicha Municipality-9 in Morang, into custody, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
