KATHMANDU, Oct 7: The 31th senate meeting of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) has approved the hiring of necessary additional teaching positions for post-graduate medical and nursing programs at its affiliated institutions, paving the way to add approximately 400 post-graduate students to those health education institutions.
The Senate meeting chaired by Pradip Paudel, Minister for Health and Population, has approved the hiring for necessary teacher positions for post-graduate doctor and nurse courses in governmental medical and nursing colleges that have educational affiliations with the NAMS.
NAMS planning to launch MBBS classes despite legal restrictions
The plan and priorities announced by the ministry on August 11, 2024, mentioned the initiative to increase the quota of post-graduate students in government medical colleges to reduce the shortage of skilled doctors.
