KATHMANDU, Jan 31: The winter session of the Federal Parliament is set to commence today at 1:00 pm. The winter session is also referred to as the legislative session. The agenda of the first day of the winter session today includes addresses by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and top leaders of political parties. According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Speaker Devraj Ghimire will nominate members to preside over the sessions as per Rule 10 of the House of Representatives Regulations, 2079 BS. Prime Minister Oli will present the ‘Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Good Governance Promotion and Public Service Delivery, 2081 BS’.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will present three ordinances: ‘First Amendment to the Financial Procedures and Fiscal Responsibility Ordinance, 2081 BS’, ‘First Amendment to the Privatization Ordinance, 2081 BS’," and ‘Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Economic and Business Environment Reform and Investment Promotion, 2081 BS’. Similarly, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation Balram Adhikari will present the ‘Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Cooperatives, 2081 BS’ and ‘Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Land, 2081 BS’.

In the National Assembly session, the agenda includes the presentation of several ordinances, including the ‘Ordinance to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Good Governance Promotion and Public Service Delivery, 2081’. Additionally, Chairperson of the Legislative Management Committee, Tulsa Kumari Dahal, will present committee reports on the ‘Media Council Bill, 2080 BS’ and the ‘Bill Relating to Renewal Energy and Energy Efficiency, 2081 BS’.
