Fundamentally, the participating firms would showcase 19 products identified in the National Trade Integration Strategy (NTIS) as highly potential export-oriented commodities, said Kalyan Krishna Tamrakar, Chairman of Branding Committee of FNCCI.

“We have invited more than 6,000 international buyers, who have been importing goods from Nepal,” said Tamrakar. He said that trade fair would be the first of its kind in Nepal.

FNCCI also announced that it will host Nepal International Trade Fair every year from this year. “We do not have any trade fair of international standard. Hence, we plan to develop Nepal International Trade Fair as one strong international event, inviting international buyers and investors,” said Tamrakar.

Likewise, the fair would have participation of 30 Indian companies, 2 Bhutanese industries, 30 Bangladeshi firms, 10 Pakistani and 30 Chinese industries.

“We will host conferences on different export oriented industries, discussing strategies and action plans that the private sector should adopt in different sectors,” said Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar, acting president of FNCCI.

The strategies that would be evolved through those conferences would be tabled at the FNCCI´s 46th annual general meeting (AGM), scheduled to be held on April 6, for further discussion and endorsement.

Likewise, FNCCI is unveiling its special vision document for the development of industries in different parts of the country on the occasion of its 46th AGM. “The vision document, Private Sector-Led Economic Growth, will have 50 priority industries and focus on promoting investment in priority sectors of the country,” said Rajkarnikar.

The vision document will also discuss problems faced by the industries like energy crisis, rigid labor law and weak access to finances, said Rajkarnikar. FNCCI top officials also said that they are celebrating Industry and Commerce Day in all the development regions of the country.
