Federation of Handicraft Association of Nepal with the support of Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Trade and Export Promotion Center, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Lalitpur Metropolitan city, FNCCI, among others is organizing ‘17th Handicraft Trade Fair and 15th Craft Competition 2019’. The fair is scheduled from November 28 to December 2 at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall, Kathmandu.

According to a press statement released by Federation of handicraft Association of Nepal, the event aims at promoting the handcraft goods produced by Nepali handicraft entrepreneurs and local artists.
Quoting the Past President of federation and main coordinator of fair, Dharma Raj Shakya, the statement stated, “The fair is organized to develop business relationship between Nepali entrepreneurs, exporters and importers, participation of Nepali entrepreneurs at international level trade fair at low cost, and promote Nepali art and culture through trade fair.”
It added that the fair will have 200 stalls and eight pavilions. Meanwhile, the craft competition will have two art categories followed by traditional metal utensils making and contemporary painting competition among differently able artisans having cash prize of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively for first, second and third position winners. Likewise, there will be live demonstration from artists, B2B / B2C meetings, intangible cultural heritage and dance shows with musical orchestra along with multi ethnic cuisines are some special features in the fair.
