KATHMANDU, June 14: Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal has arrived in Beijing for a four-day official visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
According to the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, Khanal reached the Chinese capital this afternoon local time. He had departed for China late last night.
At the Beijing airport, he was welcomed by Nepal’s Acting Ambassador to China, Roshan Khanal, along with officials from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
FM Gyawali meets with Chinese counterpart Wang in Beijing
The embassy said a welcome reception in honour of the foreign minister will be hosted this evening, where he is also expected to interact with members of the Nepali community in China.
During his visit, Minister Khanal is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on strengthening Nepal–China relations and expanding mutual cooperation. He will also meet other senior Chinese officials during the visit.
He is also set to participate in an investment conference organized by the Nepali Embassy in Beijing aimed at attracting foreign investment into Nepal, and will hold discussions with Chinese business leaders.
Minister Khanal is scheduled to return to Nepal on June 18, 2026.
