Three policemen, including police inspector Binod Shrestha of Nepal Police and two Armed Police Force (APF) personnel, sustained minor injuries in the clash, DSP Kharel informed.
"The clashes between Nepali security personnel and the protesters can be termed a general phenomenon, but Nepali security personnel being beaten up by the SSB is a matter of serious concern," said DSP Kharel, who also informed that Nepali security personnel had immediately rescued ASI Giri from Indian territory.
As per the DPO, the injured Giri has been undergoing treatment at Biratnagar-based Koshi Zonal Hospital.
