Health ministry confirms six new COVID-19 cases, taking national tally to 273

KATHMANDU, May 16: The Ministry of Health and Population confirmed six new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday morning. 


According to the ministry, a-28 year-old woman from Narkhu-11, Bardiya, a 30-year-old male from Sakhuwa-19, Siraha and two males (aged 28 and 29) from Birgunj-12, Parsa, contracted this deadly virus.

Similarly, another 18-year-old female from Ramnagar-4, Sarlahi and a 25-year-old woman of Gadhauli-1, Chitwan were also diagnosed with this disease earlier today. 


Their swab samples were tested at the Kathmandu-based National Public Health Laboratory. 


Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, joint spokesperson for the ministry, said that they all are normal and are in regular contact with medics. 


With this, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nepal has climbed to 273. Of them, 36 have recovered while no death has been reported yet.
