Govt committed to revive long-closed industries: PM Dahal

BIRGUNJ, Jan 29: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said preparations are underway to revive industries that have remained closed for a long time. 

Addressing the 20th Establishment Day and National Council Meeting of Press Centre Nepal in Birgunj on Monday, Prime Minister Dahal said preparations are ongoing to revive key industrial entities such as the Biratnagar Jute Mill, Hetauda Textile Factory, Gorakhkali Rubber Industry and Butwal Spinning Mills Ltd.  

"The government has decided to operate such industries under the private-public partnership model," he said. The prime minister also expressed commitment to formulate the upcoming budget through collaborative efforts between political parties. He added that the government’s policies and programs will be designed to prioritize the citizens' welfare and interests as well as to promote socialism and social justice. 

The prime minister hinted that there will be significant changes in the upcoming budget.

He further added that the government has strongly acted against land mafia and the malpractice of usury. The decision to include the labor force from informal, self-employment and foreign employment to the Social Security Fund is among the significant achievements of the incumbent government, added the PM.
