GODAWARI, Aug 21: Subsidies have been provided to 33 industries in Kailali under the 'One Constituency One Industry Promotion Support Program'. The Office of Cottage and Small Industries selected and provided subsidies to those industries from 10 constituencies of the district in the fiscal year 2023/24.
Tikendra Prasad Joshi, accounts officer of the Office, said that as there are 10 constituencies in the district, the Office has provided subsidies to 33 industries. Joshi said that the 'One Constituency One Industry Promotion Support Program' has been implemented to upgrade industries that have been operating for a long time.
Last year, a budget of Rs 10.5 million was allocated for the ‘One Constituency One Industry Promotion Support Program’ implemented by the Sudurpaschim government.
661 new industries registered in last 10 months in Kailali
Accounts Officer Joshi said that subsidies worth Rs 300,000 to Rs 500,000 have been provided to each industry for the upgradation of all types of industries that are registered in the Office and are in operation.
The subsidy was provided in cost-sharing of 20 percent by the industrialists and 80 percent by the provincial government
According to the office, subsidies have been given to selected industries based on the use of local raw materials including dairy, furniture, beekeeping, and agricultural products.
Since the establishment of the industry, subsidies have been given to those who have not received government assistance. In all the nine districts of Sudurpaschim Province, this activity has been carried out through the Office of Cottage and Small Industries.
