KATHMANDU, Sept 26: The Panchase area of Kaski recorded the highest rainfall in the country, receiving 189 mm over the past 24 hours.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, rainfall measurements included 172 mm in Archale, Palpa; 170.8 mm in Bharse, Gulmi; 165.2 mm in Kuhun, Myagdi; and 161 mm in Darbang, Myagdi.

Monitoring stations reported rainfall in Bhajani and Dhangadhi Airport in Kailali, Beni in Myagdi, Karkineta in Parbat, Archale in Palpa, and Pachhmul in Syangja.
Meanwhile, water levels in various rivers and streams in Banke, Myagdi, Parbat, Lamjung, Chitwan and Bhojpur have approached the alert level.
Flood monitoring stations indicate that water levels have crossed the alert threshold at the Kiran Nala River in Banke and Mangalghat in Myagdi.
The Department said the country is currently under the partial influence of both monsoon and westerly winds.
Cloudy conditions currently prevail across the country, including the Kathmandu Valley. Light to moderate rain is occurring in many places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces; some areas of Bagmati Province; and a few locations in Koshi and Madhesh provinces.
