PARBAT, Nov 10: Cable car transportation is to be constructed connecting Panchase, the famous touristic and religious place situated at the tri-junction of Parbat, Kaski and Syangja districts.
The cable car facility is being constructed at Ghantichhina of Pokhara metropolitan city-23. It will be linked up to Panchase from Ghantichhina. Panchase is located at an altitude of 2,517 metres from the sea level and it is developing into the best tourism destination in Gandaki province. Panchase is roughly 8.5 kilometres from Ghantichhina.
Manakamana cable car service to remain closed on March 20
The Panchase Tours and Travel Company, Bandipur Cable Car Pvt Ltd, and RKD Real Estate and Construction Ltd have forwarded the process for the construction of the cable car service.
It is said the locals would get share of the cable car worth three billion rupees. The locals of Panchase will get 30 per cent of the shares out of the total estimated cost of the project which is Rs 10 billion. The locals of Modi rural municipality in Parbat district, of Pokhara metropolitan city of Kaski district and of Aandhikhola rural municipality of Syangja district will get the shares of the cable car.
At present visitors going to Panchase have to travel by road up to Bhadaure of Kaski district and then walk up to Panchase. Visitors coming from Parbat can come by vehicles up to Chitre or Arthar Dandakharka and then walk up to four hours to Panchase.
Cable Car Company chairman Ram Chandra Sharma said the cable car is being constructed for promoting tourism in Panchase area which is the nearest tourism destination from Pokhara. RSS
