The action plan addresses past delays in hydropower development that were caused by infrastructure issues and incomplete studies. Khadka expressed confidence that major projects would be completed within four to five years and outlined a strategy to overcome challenges such as land acquisition, environmental approvals, and coordination with the Ministry of Finance.
Similarly, the government has set up a committee to address these issues with daily monitoring. Minister Khadka said that the target of 28,500 megawatts is both scientific and achievable, aiming to boost citizen participation in hydropower production and foster an attractive investment environment.
Discussions with the Ministry of Finance are ongoing to secure necessary investments for the energy sector over the next 10 years. Khadka said that the roadmap would pave the way for a prosperous Nepal through the development of its hydropower resources.
