DPM Yadav vows to eliminate tuberculosis in Nepal by 2035

KATHMANDU, June 9: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Upendra Yadav has vowed to eliminate tuberculosis in the country by 2035.

KATHMANDU, June 9: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Upendra Yadav has vowed to eliminate tuberculosis in the country by 2035.


Addressing an event in the capital on Sunday, the minister said that his ministry will coordinate with provincial and local levels to control tuberculosis.


"The task of controlling tuberculosis seems challenging due to inhospitable terrain and poverty," he said adding that the ministry will launch programs in coordination with provincial and local levels to control tuberculosis.

"The government will run public awareness campaigns and new strategies for the same," he said.


He also praised the international community's support in controlling tuberculosis in Nepal.
