Free electricity for people consuming up to 20 units will be implemented within a month and a half: Minister Bhusal

KATHMANDU, August 21: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal has said that the government's decision to provide free electricity to the people consuming up to 20 units of electricity will be implemented within a month and a half.

KATHMANDU, August 21: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal has said that the government's decision to provide free electricity to the people consuming 20 units of electricity will be implemented within a month and a half.

Minister Bhusal said that the decision was taken with the objective to provide free electricity to people living below the poverty line. Speaking at a program organized in Lalitpur on Friday, she said that the ministry has already completed all the necessary procedures with the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and will now implement the decision after the Electricity Regulatory Commission takes a decision to this effect.


Minister Bhusal also urged all to help the poor and needy citizens. She said that leaders and political parties have been criticized for not raising the living standards of poor and needy people.
