“We have resorted to a fast-unto-death after the British government paid no heed to our 13-day relay hunger strike,” said Gyan Raj Rai , coordinator of Gurkha Satyagraha Samyukta Sangharsa Samiti.
The agitating Gurkha soldiers are up in arms floating a five-point demand which includes pension at par with British soldiers, free medical facility, residential facility for the offspring of Gurkha soldiers above 18-years of age, and compensation.
“I have decided to stage a fast-unto-death against the discriminatory law of Britain, said Rai, adding “I will continue with it as long as our demands are addressed.”
