KANCHANPUR, Oct 18: An endangered species of python was found at Musepani locality of Bedkot Municipality – 6 in Kanchanpur on Monday.

Ruplal Chaudhary – a local villager – informed the Area Forest Office, Brahmadev, after coming across the python in his paddy field. The python is seven feet in length and weighs six kilos, said Area Forest Office's forest ranger, Umesh Bahadur Singh.

The python was rescued by a team of rangers and taken to the Suklaphanta Wildlife Reserve. The forest office believes the python could have strayed out into the human settlement from the nearby Ganesh Community Forest. RSS
