KATHMANDU, Oct 25: Minister for Education, Science and Technology (MoEST), Bidya Bhattarai, has said the School Midday Meal National Framework based on local produce has been approved and is being implemented.
Unveiling key achievements made by her ministry during the first 100 days office, Minister Bhattarai shared that the MoEST had prepared an action plan for the implementation of compulsory and free education as well as action plan for improvement of school-level education and evaluation system.

She underlined, "Draft of a University bill has been prepared and sent to the cabinet and a draft of higher education bill has been sent to the Nepal Law Commission for review."
Similarly, draft of a Bill related to Technical Educational and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has been forwarded to the Finance Ministry and over 900 Educational Consultancies have been renewed. Inspections will be carried out in the consultancies providing counseling and other services to students going abroad for higher studies and their documents like approval letters and tax clearance certificates will be verified before renewing consultancies, according to Minister Bhattarai.
She mentioned, "Monitoring of six health institutions has been completed for the implementation of criteria related to radioactive materials and radiation safety. Draft for the curriculum reforms of the CTEVT has been prepared. Action Plan has been made to make higher education programmes run by educational institutions affiliated with foreign universities systematic."
