KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Drake has unveiled the latest NOCTA x Nike apparel drop: 8K Peaks collection. Inspired by mountaineer Nirmal Purja (Nimsdai Purja), the detailed collection includes outerwear and apparel for colder climates.

According to a statement, the upcoming apparel collection continues to explore a functional and technical theme, with inspiration derived from Nimsdai ‘Nims’ Purja, the Chitwan-born mountaineer who holds multiple world records in mountaineering. Nimsdai boasts the highest number of successful summits over 8,000 meters in the history of extreme high-altitude mountaineering, totaling 43. In 2019, he achieved the remarkable feat of climbing all 14 of the world’s ‘Death Zone’ peaks over 8,000 meters in just 6 months and 6 days. Additionally, Nimsdai led the first winter ascent of K2, the ‘Savage Mountain,’ where he and the ten-strong Nepal team reached the summit while singing the Nepalese national anthem.
“I am honored that my achievements, together with those of my Sherpa brothers, have been recognized through this new collection. My goal has always been to inspire the world - to let everyone with a big dream know that nothing is impossible. Human beings are capable of amazing things,” the statement quotes Nimsdai Purja.
