KATHMANDU, Nov 30: 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible, a Nepali documentary about Nirmal Purja, the first mountaineer in the world to summit all 14 of the world's 8,000-meter peaks in seven months, was released worldwide on Netflix on Monday.
The documentary was made by American and British filmmakers following his ambitious seven-month plan to summit 14 of the world's highest peaks. Directed by Torquil Jones, it is also produced by Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi who in 2019 won an Oscar for their film Free Solo featuring Alex Honnold.

Not only the director and producer, who have been nominated for Oscar and other prestigious awards are involved in the making of this documentary, but it is also competing for an Oscar award for the feature film genre.
“We all have individual mountains to conquer in our lives,” said Purja, adding that the documentary will make everyone happy.
Purja, 38, who was born in the lap of Dhaulagiri Mountain started his journey of mountaineering by successfully summiting Mt Annapurna on April 23, 2019. His ‘Project Possible’ campaign ended on October 29, 2019 after completion of the expedition of Mt Shishapangma, located in China. Purja also holds the Guinness World Record for climbing Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu within 2 days and 30 minutes.
The documentary has been screened among at least 210 million Netflix paid members in 191 countries around the world.
