GORKHA, Sept 20: Central coordinator of the Sajha Party, Rabindra Mishra, has said it is wrong to blame constitution for political gain.

At a programme organized at the district headquarters of Gorkha on Friday, central coordinator Mishra wondered why the leaders involved in constitution drafting are protesting the constitution at present.

"Some of those formulating the constitution began protesting it immediately after its promulgation. It has been just four years since we got a new constitution. So, it's wrong to belittle the new constitution for one's political interest," he underscored. He, however, said the implementation of the constitution has not been effective.

Political parties have engaged in minor issues by ignoring people's aspiration, which, he argued, slowed the implementation of the constitution.

Central coordinator Mishra further said the weakness of the constitution could be corrected rather than making efforts to subvert it.

Only street agitation would not contribute to people's aspiration for development and prosperity, he observed.
