KATHMANDU, Aug 7: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday increased 18.30 points to close at 2,850.37 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,832.06 points and jumped around 28 points in the first 14 minutes. However, the market again dropped around 20 points in the short time period, followed by a gradual incline to hit the day’s high at 2,861.21 points when the trading time was 56 minutes left. In the remaining around an hour, the market again declined around 21 points.
Nepse up for a fifth consecutive week
All the 13 groups were the gainers. Life insurance escalated by the highest of 101.92 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies inclined 2.61 points. The daily turnover also went up to Rs 8.53 billion from Rs 7.63 billion on Wednesday.
Among the individual companies, 187 were gainers while 62 were recorded as losers. Liberty Energy Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 390.12 million.
Sikles Hydropower Limited with an incline of 9.81 percent was the topmost loser. The share price of Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited fell 8.26 percent, the highest of all.
