KATHMANDU, Jan 26: The Puspha Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal led faction of the Nepal Communist Party is kicking off its third phase of protest against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) today. The NCP faction is scheduled to organize a whistle rally on the first day of the third phase protest programs.
The NCP rival faction, which is demanding restoration of the HoR, announced its third phase of agitation against the house dissolution on Monday. The Dahal-Nepal faction has been staging a series of protests and demonstration activities across the country against the move of Prime Minister K P Oli to dissolve the HoR on December 20, 2020.
Whistle rally against parliament dissolution
The NCP faction is scheduled to organize a sit-in at Maitighar Mandala from January 26 to February 3, a public ceremony to pay homage to martyrs on January 29, a youth rally in Kathmandu on February 4 and a torch rally on February 8.
The party will also stage mass gatherings in Butwal, Pokhara and Dhangadhi on January 28, 29 and 30 respectively, according to the protest program unveiled by the faction on Monday.
