KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Janta Samajbadi Party (JSP) is very much unlikely to join the joint agitation against the dissolution of House of Representatives (HoR) being organized by the Puspha Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal led faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

Earlier, the Dahal-Nepal faction had announced a joint agitation against the HoR dissolution in the first week of Falgun.

JSP is currently staging its third phase of agitation against the dissolution of the lower house by the government.

“There are no chances of going for a joint agitation against the HoR dissolution. However, the party has been staging protests and demonstrations on its own and that will be continued,” said Rajendra Matto, a key leader of JSP.

“No formal discussions have been held between JSP and the Dahal-Nepal faction of NCP regarding a joint agitation against HoR dissolution,” he added.

Leaders within JSP seem divided on the subject of joint agitation. According to a source, chairman of the party, Mahantha Thakur is of the view of not joining the joint agitation while some other leaders have asked to wait for the apex court’s decision on the case of HoR dissolution.
