BANKE, April 5: Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Leela Giri, made an on-site visit to the construction site of the proposed Lumbini Technical University in Khajura Rural Municipality of Banke district today.
Preparations were afoot to take forward the process to acquire 81 bighas of land in ward no 7 and 37 of the rural municipality. Locals suggested to CM Giri to deliver on the university project taking them into consideration.

Stating that the proposed university was a pride project, CM Giri asserted that it would contribute to producing technical human resources. He called for cooperation from all quarters towards this end.
Similarly, Khajura Rural Municipality Chairperson Dabbar BK shared that once the construction works of the university starts, they will address the concerns relating to the locals residing in the proposed construction site.
The university's senate meeting is being held today in Nepalgunj. The meeting is scheduled to decide on appointment of members to the Technical University Service Commission and demand an additional budget from the provincial government for the university, it is said.
