NEPSE declines for fourth consecutive day, drops by 2.70 points with Rs 10.10 billion turnover

A total of 99 companies saw their share prices increase, while 132 companies experienced a decline, and 12 companies remained stable.

KATHMANDU, March 6: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has declined for the fourth consecutive day. On Thursday, it dropped by 2.70 points compared to the previous day. Following this decline, the NEPSE index stands at 2,818 points.


The trading volume has also decreased. While the trading amount was Rs 10.97 billion in the previous day, it has now reached Rs 10.10 billion today. A total of 99 companies saw their share prices increase, while 132 companies experienced a decline, and 12 companies remained stable.

The development bank sector saw the highest increases by 1.86 percent. Similarly, banking increased by 0.03 percent, followed by Manufacturing & Processing segments by 0.24 percent, and microfinance by 0.05 percent. On the other hand, the finance sector decreased by 0.23 percent, the hotel and tourism sector by 0.57 percent, the hydropower sector by 0.06 percent, the investment sector by 0.14 percent, the life insurance sector by 0.80 percent, the non-life insurance sector by 0.04 percent, and other sectors by 0.71 percent and the trade sector decreased by 0.24 percent.


The share prices of three companies including Guardian Micro Life Insurance, Bhugol Energy Development Company Pvt Ltd, and Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited increased by 10 percent. Rapti Hydropower increased by 9.91 percent, and Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank increased by 7.84 percent.


Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha ltd fell by 7.6 percent and Life Insurance Corporation by 6.35 percent. Two reinsurance companies including Himalayan Reinsurance and Nepal Reinsurance, saw a turnover of over Rs 1 billion each. Himalayan Reinsurance recorded a turnover of Rs 1.12 billion and Nepal Reinsurance saw a turnover of Rs 1.08 billion. Following these companies in terms of trading volume were NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited, Ghalemdi Hydro Limited and First Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd, respectively.
