CIAA directs IoM not to reduce MBBS, BAMS quotas for public

By
KATHMANDU, Sept 3: The Ministry of Education and Institute of Medicine (IoM) have been directed by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) not to cut off Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor Level in Ayurvedic Science (BAMS) seats at TU Teaching Hospital allocated for general public under open quotas.

The CIAA's directives came as a response to a complaint filed against an increment of quotas for the children of TU teachers and staffs by reducing seats under open quotas. The CIAA Thursday sent a letter to the Ministry of Education, TU, IOM and Nepal Medical Council directing not to go for such arrangement.

Earlier, the IoM announced an increment in MBBS and BAMS quota for the children of TU teachers and staffs citing the decision of TU Executive Council. RSS
