KATHMANDU, Sept 28: The Chitwan District Administration Office has closed the highway from Kathmandu to Chitwan. Publishing a notice on Saturday, the district administration blocked vehicular movement on the Narayanghat-Mugling road and Prithvi Highway, stating the risk of monsoon-induced disasters triggered by the incessant rain for the past three days.
The district administration has urged passengers to keep patience with vehicles stranded at Aaptari in Narayanghat since last night on the Chitwan-Narayanghat route. It is reported that the decision regarding the resumption of traffic will be made tomorrow after taking stock of the situation and the weather.
Narayangath-Muglin road blocked
Earlier on Friday, the administration imposed a blockade starting from 7 PM to 5 AM along the Narayanghat-Mugling road section.
