KATHMANDU, Oct 10: The price of gold in the domestic market increased Rs 900 per tola (11.6638 grams) last week.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the market price of gold increased to Rs 295,700 from Rs 294,800 per tola when the market closed the previous week.
Price of gold increased by Rs 1,900 per tola this week
Over the period, the price of precious metal inclined for the three days, with the largest increase of Rs 2,900 was recorded on Friday. In two-day fall, the largest decline of Rs 2,900 was noted on Sunday.
As per the report of Reuters, an international media, gold price last week was influenced by the uncertainty in change in interest rate by the Federal Reserve. “Gold prices edged up on Thursday after hitting a two-month low in the previous session, as investors weighed the Federal Reserve's uncertain interest-rate path against growing concerns over high levels of US debt,” Reuters reported.
The price of silver decreased Rs 45 last week, decreasing from Rs 4,450 to Rs 4,405 per tola.
