KATHMANDU, August 2: The Dumre-Besisahar road section has been blocked again. The road has been blocked due to a landslide caused by incessant rain. The landslide which occurred at Deurali Danda in Besisahar Municipality-1, Udayapur has obstructed the road section.
According to Information Officer and Engineer Purushottam Adhikari of the Dumre-Besishar-Chame road project office, the road is blocked due to debris including huge boulders that fell from the hill along the road which is connected to the Udaayapur market via the barracks of the Nepal Army at Ritthebagar. Traffic along the road has been halted as it is still raining, he said.
Narayanghat-Mugling road section blocked again
Due to the road blockage, passengers going to Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Gorkha, Tanahun from Besisahar and those coming to Besisahar from these places are facing problems.
In Kotre, 20 meters of the road was washed away, while near Rambazar, a landslide blocked the road. Engineer Adhikari said, “The work of removing the landslide debris near Rambazar is underway and the road will start operating soon.” It is said that it is currently raining and if another landslide occurs, the problem will only increase.
