KATHMANDU, Dec 11: The government on Thursday approved the agreement reached with the Gen Z group during a meeting on Wednesday.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel stated that the government decided to endorse the agreement between Prime Minister Sushila Karki and Gen Z representatives and to publish it in the official gazette.

Minister Kharel, who is also the government’s spokesperson, added that the relevant ministries have been instructed to implement the agreement as a high-priority initiative.
The cabinet meeting also expanded the mandate and scope of the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led Investigation Commission to probe the physical and material losses from the September 8 and 9 demonstrations.
In addition, the government approved the promotion of Pushkar Sapkota—currently serving as undersecretary in the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority—to the post of secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister.
The cabinet was also briefed on the report submitted to the Prime Minister by a committee tasked with assessing the damage caused during the Gen Z movement and preparing a plan for the reconstruction of public infrastructure.
