A group of people headed by local Yubaraj Karki seized two-and-a-half bigha out of 35 bigha of land in the name of Bus Park and placed barbed wire around the land area, said treasurer of bus mark management committee, Devimaya Katuwal. [break]
Some land mafias had occupied the land in the name of the Bus Park till 2067 BS. The land ownership came to the grip of Bus Park after the Appellate Court Rajbiraj and Supreme Court issued verdict in favour of Bus Park in the writ petition registered by the committee.
The municipality had allocated budget around Rs. 2.5 million and District Development Committee, Udayapur Rs. 250,000 for the construction of bus park last year. The budget allocation has not been brought to use due to the dispute among the parties at local level.
Again, the land mafias have started capturing the public land. The Bus park management committee has informed the District Administration Office, Udayapur and Triyuga municipality and had recently made Chief District officer, Udayapur, Bir Bahadur Rai, Police Chief and representatives of municipality inspect the captured land.
