Budget not to be allocated for projects without NPC recommendation

KATHMANDU, May 24: The government has decided not to allocate budgets for projects that are not prepared and have not been recommended by the National Planning Commission.


Presenting the government’s policies and programs for the coming fiscal year 2022/23 in parliament on Tuesday, President Bidya Devi Bhandari mentioned that a separate law on result-based project management will be formulated to increase capital expenditure and facilitate the implementation of development projects.

Apart from large projects of strategic importance, other projects will be implemented at the provincial and local levels, the public procurement law will be reformed and the local economy will be linked with the national economy, states the government document.
