TIKAPUR, Sept 7: Just a decade ago, dolphins were easily spotted in five various rivers of Kailali. There were many dolphins in Karnali, Mohana, Patharaiya, Kanda and Kandra rivers.Of late, however, the numbers of dolphins has significantly diminished. People can hardly spot dolphins in these rivers these days.
TIKAPUR, Aug 10: Drug abuse in Tikapur Municipality of Kailali district has decreased in recent times, thanks to the efforts made by the local security bodies. Only one incident of drug abuse was reported in the last fiscal year, against 27 such incidents in the previous fiscal year.
TIKAPUR, July 19: The locals living in eastern parts of Kailali and western parts of Bardiya have been dependent on Tikapur Hospital for treatment since years. But the hospital which is benefiting the people of both the districts is itself in a miserable state.

TIKAPUR, July 8: Locals and Tikapur and surrounding areas have welcomed the government's decision to upgrade Satti Small Customs Office along into a full-fledged customs office. On the call of Tikapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (TCCI), they celebrated the decision by lighting up their homes with a belief that the decision will open up new opportunities in the area.
TIKAPUR, June 23: Purandhar Dahal, a non-gazette first class officer, is currently the chief of Satti Small Customs Office in Kailali. Ananda Ghimire was the chief of the office until last month, while a new chief is joining next month.
TIKAPUR, May 15: Ramesh Badi of Lamkichuha Municipality – 3 was extremely worried about his son’s health. Doctors had declared that his son suffered from brain tumor and that his family might not able to afford his treatment. The landless family, which had been living a kind of nomadic life along with other Badi people in a jungle side, gave up hope. However, ‘god’ appeared to help him one day, he says.

TIKAPUR, April 2: With the decrease in the number of fish in the Karnali River, endangered dolphins have been pushed to the verge of extinction. This has compelled some activists and dolphin conservationists to raise voice for the conservation of fishes.
