90 kg of marijuana recovered from ambulance

LAHAN, August 16: The driver of an ambulance carrying marijuana was arrested in front of the District Traffic Office in Lahan Municipality-1 along the East-West Highway.

LAHAN, August 16: The driver of an ambulance carrying marijuana was arrested in front of the District Traffic Office in Lahan Municipality-1 along the East-West Highway.


During a vehicle check, police said that five sacks of marijuana kept in the patient carrying seat of the ambulance (Ko 1 Cha 7577), which was going from west to east, was recovered.

The amount of marijuana recovered from the ambulance during the vehicle inspection on Monday night has been weighed at 90 kg. Spokesman for the District Police Office, Siraha, Police Inspector Ramchandra Shah informed Republica that 90 kg of marijuana packed in five sacks and Rs 28,000 were recovered from the ambulance.  


After the recovery of marijuana, the ambulance driver Saroj Lama, 29, a resident of Dhangadhimai Municipality-9 in Siraha, was detained and further investigation is being conducted, said Shah.
