21 human skeletons found in Langtang

DHUNCHE (Rasuwa), Oct 12: A total of 21 human remains have been found in Langtang area of Rasuwa district, supposedly the remaining of those buried in the avalanche following the April 25 devastating earthquake.

According to the Abadesh Bista, Chief of the District Police Office, Rasuwa, a joint team of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, Nepal led by Bikram Gurung, Chief of Narayan Battalion spotted the skeleton recently.

Chief Police Bista shared that the locals believed the skeletons were mostly of the locals who had gone missing following the avalanche.

Of the total skeleton found today, 15 skeletons have been handed over to the families concerned after the identification whereas six of them are to be sent to the capital city for DNA tests.

It took nearly 10 days for finding the bodies to the team after their search around the place where the avalanche occurred.

Bista further informed that of the total 300 buried in the avalanche following the earthquake, the whereabouts of 85 is still unknown. RSS
