KATHMANDU, Dec 23: Dr Nicholas Bhusal has been arrested on charges of taking and publicizing a photo of Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman. of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), while he was sleeping in the custody of Kaski Police.
He was arrested on Sunday evening from Kathmandu, according to SSP Sanuram Bhattarai, Chief of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.
Bhusal has admitted to taking a photo of Lamichhane captured on the police CCTV and sharing it on social media.

He stated that while visiting Lamichhane last Saturday, he saw him sleeping on the police CCTV and took the photo.
"I took the photo after seeing it on the police CCTV. No one said anything at the time. It was a mistake," he admitted during a Facebook Live session.
Bhusal claimed that after he posted the photo on Facebook, RSP supporters made it go viral.
Although Kaski Police had prohibited bringing mobile phones into the office after Lamichhane's arrest, Bhusal managed to bring his mobile inside the premises.
After the photo was made public, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak instructed an investigation into the incident. Following this, Kaski Police issued a statement saying that Bhusal's actions violated cyber laws.
SSP Bhattarai has stated that Bhusal, who has been arrested, will be sent to Pokhara for further investigation.
