Youth killed in Kalikot clash, Five detained

The two groups of youths, who were attending the Ghar puja (housewarming) of a local, reportedly clashed during the night. Shahi was fatally attacked with a khukuri, a traditional knife.

KALIKOT, March 13: A 17-year-old youth lost his life in a clash between two groups in Khandachakra Municipality-10, Kalikot district. The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Shahi, a resident of Tilagupha Municipality-7 in the district.  


The two groups of youths, who were attending the Ghar puja (housewarming) of a local, reportedly clashed during the night. Shahi was fatally attacked with a khukuri, a traditional knife.

Another youth, 16-year-old Bhupendra Shahi, sustained injuries during the altercation.  


The incident occurred 35 kilometers away from the district headquarters, Manma. According to the District Police, a security team arrived at the scene this morning and apprehended five individuals suspected of being involved in the incident. The team was led by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tek Bahadur Rawat.  


Krishna KC, an information officer from the police, confirmed that the body has been brought to the district headquarters for a post-mortem examination. All those arrested are under 18 years of age. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
