KATHMANDU, March 13: Nepal faced a 40-run defeat against Uganda in the Women’s Day Cup 2025.
After winning the toss, Uganda opted to bat first and set a target of 92 runs. The hosts managed to score 91 for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Rita Musamali led the scoreboard with 38 runs, while Esther Iloku contributed 22. Despite losing both openers for ducks, Uganda stabilized their innings with an unbeaten 13 from Stephanie Nampiina.

For Nepal, Riya Sharma was the standout bowler, securing two wickets, while Puja Mahato, Rubina Chhetri, and Ishwari Bista each claimed one wicket.
Chasing 92, Nepal struggled against Uganda’s disciplined bowling attack and was bowled out for just 51 runs in 17.1 overs.
